CHILDREN were invited to meet a variety of animals during a fun event at the Magna centre in Rotherham today.

The event - called Animal In-tuition - was due to give children the chance to hold baby rabbits and chicks, as well as scarier creatures such as snakes and tarantulas.

Workshops were due to take place from 10am to 3.30pm at the centre on Sheffield Road, Templeborough, lasting 30 minutes each.

A science show all about objects found in the kitchen was also due to take place at 3pm, featuring experiments and demonstrations with everyday household materials.

Tickets for the Kitchen Sink Show cost £1 per child, while admission to the animal show is £2.
