It was a festival atmosphere on the steps of the Sheffield Amphitheatre today for the partial solar eclipse of August 2026.
Hundreds climbed the steep steps behind the railway station for one of the best views in Sheffield.
And, on August 12, the west-facing theatre was also the perfect platform for the 90 per cent partial solar eclipse.
It didn’t quite plunge Sheffield into darkness - but hundreds enjoyed the summery evening overlooking the city, accompanied by music and scores of people gazing into cereal boxes and colanders!
Photographer Errol Edwards was in the mix for photos of friends and families out enjoying this briefly-not-so-sunny August evening.
