FOR Wednesdayites there’s not much beats seeing the Owls win on your birthday... but Grace Jasper got something even better than that on hers.

Not only did she see Wednesday win, but she got to meet the star who scored both goals – Gary Madine.

It all came about after Grace sent a letter to the club explaining how much she enjoys watching the Owls. A few days later the postman delivered a reply from her favourite player.

Gary invited Grace, from Woodhouse Mill, to be special guest at the Preston North End game.

The whole Jasper family – mum Joanne, dad Martin, Grace and younger brother Elliott – visited Hillsborough and were met by the man they call the Goal Machine, who presented the birthday girl, aged 10, with a card signed by the team. He even promised to get Grace three points with a win.

He said: “Grace is a lovely girl who took the time to write to us so I’m pleased we could make her birthday a day to remember.”
