Amanda Spencer pimped out 15-year-old Sheffield girl to 50 men

Judge Peter Kelson QC sentenced 26-year-old Spencer to three years in prison after being found guilty of four counts of arranging child prostitution in relation to Girl A, who cannot be named for legal reasons, at Sheffield Crown Court today.

This follows Spencer being jailed for 12 years in 2014 after being found guilty of 16 offences relating to child prostitution in Sheffield.

Judge Kelson QC handed her a consecutive sentence to her 2014 one, bringing her total prison term to 15 years.

During the trial, which concluded last month, the court was told how Spencer came into contact with Girl A after meeting her at the Castle Market in Sheffield City Centre in 2012.

Prosecutor Peter Hampton explained how shortly before the two met, Girl A had been taken into foster care after telling her doctor she wanted to kill herself.

Prior to this the girl had been living with various relatives in the wake of her mother's death.

Mr Hampton told the court how Spencer, who had been a foster-care child herself, gained Girl A's trust by giving the impression she wanted to look after her.

He said: "Amanda was friendly at first, buying her clothes, doing her hair, offering her a bed for the night.

"However, Amanda soon changed, she plied Girl A with alcohol and began to prostitute her.

"Girl A was aware that Amanda was receiving money in return."

Spencer pimped Girl A out to around 50 men in the space of three to four months in 2012.

Girl A was taken to the home of Spencer's clients on each occasion.

Sentencing Spencer today, Judge Kelson told her: “Your sexual exploitation of Girl A was breathtaking in its persistence.

“I have no doubt you skilfully groomed Girl A, taking her into your trust with false friendship until you had attained complete control of her.

“You knew she was vulnerable but you didn’t care. You knew what it was like to be exploited but you didn’t care.

“You prostituted her at the homes of various men.

“On each occasion she was plied with alcohol and was fearful that you would be violent towards her; you had been violent in the past.

“On each occasion you would be paid money. You would sometimes provide her with cigarettes, and even on occasion, food.”

One such client was Taleb Bapir, 39, who raped Girl A in his home in Verdon Street, Neepsend.

Mr Hampton said: "He took her to his bedroom.

"She told him she was 15 and didn't want to have sex with him. He raped her anyway.

"He covered her mouth when she tried to scream. The following morning he paid Amanda Spencer £60."

Bapir was sentenced to 10 years in prison today, after being found guilty of one count of rape.

Spencer’s co-defendants were also sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court today.

Christopher Whiteley, 24, of Weakland Crescent, Hackenthorpe was sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison for four counts of rape, one child prostitution offence, two counts of sexual assault on a child under 13 and one count of theft.

Shane Whiteley, 30, and Matthew Whiteley, 25, also of Weakland Crescent, Hackenthorpe were given eight years and seven years in prison, respectively, for one child prostitution offence.
