Almost a quarter of jobs in Sheffield pay less than the living wage, new figures show.
However the city has one of the smallest proportions of jobs below the benchmark of £7.85 an hour in Yorkshire and the Humber.
At 21. 4 per cent, Sheffield’s figure was also below the UK average of 21.7 per cent – Rotherham and Barnsley had higher rates.
Union GMB said: “No area is immune from the low-pay epidemic, which is why all local authorities need to champion the Living Wage in their communities.”
