All change on the site of Don Valley Stadium

What a difference a year-and-a-bit makes. The iconic Don Valley stadium in Sheffield is long gone and all the focus is on the redevelopment of the huge plot where it once stood.

Flattened in 2014, the famous stadium made way for what will be an Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre.

Already the first building is complete, and a nursery within it has opened. The Christian-run Oasis Academy, will open to children up to the age of 16 in 2018.

At the back of the plot closest to the English Institute of Sport, the framework of what will be a University Technical College for teenagers, focusing on healthcare, sport and computing, is taking shape.

The AWRC will also include facilities for the Sheffield Eagles and Sheffield Sharks.
