ALERT: Warning after suspicious man approached 11-year-old boy on Sheffield estate

Police have launched an investigation after a man approached a young boy walking home from school on a Sheffield estate.

Officers have today released an e-fit of a man they urgently need to identify after the incident on Drakehouse Lane in Beighton at around 4.40pm on March 10.

The man is understood to have spoken to the boy, asking him to follow him, before the 11-year-old ran off.

Police say It is 'unclear' where the man went after the incident, but police believe there may have been witnesses and are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

Inspector Jason Booth from the Sheffield South East Local Policing Team said: “I understand incidents of this nature can be incredibly concerning and we are working hard to identify the man in the e-fit image.

“The boy involved was not injured but understandably he and his family are distressed by this matter so it’s important we hear from anyone who may know who this man is or who can help us gather more information about the circumstances of this incident.”
