PARKING arrangements at Robin Hood Airport have been praised by the South Yorkshire Police’s safer parking scheme.

Chief Superintendent Tim Innes visited the airport at Finningley to present the team with their safer parking award.

The scheme was set up by the Association of Chief Police Officers to reduce crime and the fear of crime in parking areas and the Park Mark safer parking award is granted to parking areas that have passed the risk assessment carried out by police officers.

Airport bosses say being awarded the Park Mark means the airport has put in place measures which help to deter criminal activity, and that the airport provides a safe and secure environment, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, covering all its 400 parking spaces.
