Air ambulance called and person taken to hospital after 'medical emergency’ at school

Emergency services were called to Coppice School in Hatfield shortly after lunchtime.
Eye witnesses reported ambulances and police vehicles at the scene as well as the air ambulance on school fields.

Hide AdA spokesman for Yorkshire Air Ambulance said crews had been called to the school shortly before 1pm.
A brief statement said: “We were called at 12.48pm today to a medical incident at Coppice School in Hatfield, Doncaster and dispatched two ambulances, a clinical supervisor and the air ambulance to the scene.
"One patient was conveyed by land ambulance to hospital.”
Earlier reports suggested the ambulance had landed in the grounds of adjoining Ash Hill Academy.
The two schools adjoin each other in Ash Hill Road and Crookes Broom Avenue, Hatfield.
Coppice is a community day school for pupils aged 3-19 years with severe learning difficulties and autism.
