Air ambulance called and man taken to hospital after police incident on Sheffield estate

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a police incident on a Sheffield estate.

The incident took place on Lowedges Crescent on the Lowedges estate shortly before 11am this morning (Thursday, April 1).

Two ambulances attended as well as the police and the air ambulance, with the helicopter landing on a nearby field.

The 36-year-old man was taken to hospital by land ambulance but police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this time.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 10:54 on 1 April with concerns of safety for a man inside a property on Lowledges Crescent in Sheffield

"Officers attended and discovered a 36 year-old man with serious injuries to his abdomen. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"We are not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident at this time."
