An afternoon of Matilda

Matilda will come to life this weekend, as Sheffield's Handmade Cinema presents a large immersive film screening of the Roald Dahl classic, at The Jubilee Centre.

The 1996 film will be shown in an entirely decorated space where the audience can literally step into the world of Matilda.

There will be an afternoon of craft activities, themed-refreshments, magic tricks, handmade scenery, face painting, books-a-plenty and a pop-up film screening. Ahead of the film, children will be invited to try out magic tricks, eat a slice of Bruce Bogtrotter’s chocolate cake, take photos in the ‘chokey,’ plait their hair like Amanda Thripp, and drive Mr Wormwood’s dodgy cars.

Visit www.handmadecinema.co.uk for tickets for the screening, which will be held from 2pm to 5pm and is suitable for children aged 4 and over. Tickets are £6 each.
