AESSEAL clinches landmark oil deal

AESSEAL will supply a huge oil refinery in Lincolnshire in a 'landmark' deal which opens the door to more trade with the oil and gas industry.

The Rotherham manufacturer has won a five-year contract with Total Lindsey Oil Refinery Ltd, based in Killingholme, North Lincolnshire.

It will supply and repair seals used on more than 600 pumps on the site after winning the contract from the incumbent supplier.

It comes after two years of negotiations during which the firm has fulfilled small orders to the plant. It is hoped the deal will open the door to similar work from oil refineries and firms around the world.

Total is the world’s fourth largest independent oil and gas company, with operations in 130 countries and more than 100,000 employees.

The Lindsey refinery is one of six in the UK.

Richard Smith, oil and gas industry director at AESSEAL, said: “We have been working with Total at the Lindsey Oil Refinery for a number of years supplying bearing protection products, our service to Total over this period has been a contributing factor in us being awarded this contract.”

AESSEAL is the world’s fourth largest manufacturer of mechanical seals, bearing protectors, and seal support systems.
