Advice issued to South Yorkshire motorists during Road Safety Week

The South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership is urging road users to think of ways to make the roads safer.

As part of National Road Safety Week, members of the partnership are attending a series of events across the region to promote the national message of ‘Drive less, live more’ and give out information and advice on a range of road safety issues.

They will be in Barkers Pool in Sheffield city centre on Sunday, November 22; Dearne Valley College on November 24, Tesco Superstore in Rotherham town centre on November 25, Lakeside Retail Park, Doncaster, on November 26 and Barnsley College on November 27.

Education manager Alex Linton said: “Safety on and around the roads is always important but National Road Safety Week is a great opportunity to remind people of that and of how they can contribute to improving it.

“The events that we’re attending are a lot of fun and a chance for people to find out a bit more about how they can help to keep themselves and our roads a bit safer.

“This year’s theme of ‘Drive less, live more’ encourages people to look at alternative ways of travelling.”
