Advice centre funds restored

Have your say

AN ADVICE centre boss has written to Sheffield Council to say thanks after a decision was made to restore funding which was previously axed.

Gunlaz Hussain, manager of Pakistan Advice Centre, Fir Vale, was bracing himself for a 15 per cent cut in its council grant - equivalent to £6,112 - but it has now been reduced to £3,056.

He said: “This funding will help to protect some of the key services that we provide.”

As part of the budget changes made by Labour, the cut to the centre has been reduced to ensure no voluntary sector organisation would receive a cut in their Grant Aid funding of greater than 7.5 per cent.
