Carmen Frank, chair of the PTA, said: “This playground will allow children and staff to extend learning far beyond the classroom.

“It has looked like a building site for a number of months now but we are nearly there – and it’s like nothing else in the city.”

To celebrate Project Cedarwood there is a grand opening for all the children, friends and neighbours of the school on June 29 from 1pm.

Any local businesses wanting to be a part of the project can call the school on 0114 288 2221.
