Pupils at Stocksbridge Junior School have a playground like no other

Work on the ambitious new playground at Stocksbridge Junior School is almost complete, but excited pupils have already been trying out the new playground.

The school have been working with the design company, Eightspace, to develop the grounds and transform them into a ‘fantastic, innovative outside learning environment’.

Carmen Frank, chair of the PTA, said: “This playground will allow children and staff to extend learning far beyond the classroom.

“It has looked like a building site for a number of months now but we are nearly there – and it’s like nothing else in the city.”

To celebrate Project Cedarwood there is a grand opening for all the children, friends and neighbours of the school on June 29 from 1pm.

Any local businesses wanting to be a part of the project can call the school on 0114 288 2221.
