Sheffield actor Dominic West is treating fans in his home city to an exclusive performance – alongside renowned international solo pianist Lucy Parham .

The pair will perform in an event to raise funds for charity Helen’s Trust.

The one-off event will see the Wire actor take to the stage at the Upper Chapel, Surrey Street, Sheffield, on Saturday at 7.30pm.

Dominic West will play the role of narrator for Parham’s self-penned Rêverie – the life and loves of Claude Debussy, which celebrates the composer’s 150th anniversary.

The evening will end with a question-and-answer session giving audience members the chance to quiz the actor and musician.

Dominic said: “Having the opportunity to perform back at home in Sheffield is always a buzz for me.

“Lucy’s work is inspirational and I’m honoured to be able to work alongside her, raising money for such a worthy charity as Helen’s Trust in the process.”

Lucy said: “It was my life-long passion for the music of Schumann that inspired the original concept of my words and music evenings.

“I’m pleased to be able to bring my latest show to Sheffield with Dominic and raise funds for the vital work Helen’s Trust does.”

Rêverie is the fourth biographical programme of composers’ words and music to be compiled and scripted by Parham.

The evening will tell the tale of Debussy’s complex intellectual and emotional world; the entangled love life that brought illicit trysts in Jersey, a brush with a revolver and even a suicide attempt.

Lucy Nickson, Helen’s Trust CEO, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer music and theatre-lovers the opportunity to attend this special one-off performance.

“Having such brilliant performers giving their time to raise money for Helen’s Trust is a phenomenal honour.”

Tickets are £23 each.
