Emma Shipley had been sleeping on a mattress on her bedroom floor for more than a month – and she had had enough. The mum ordered a king-size bed, two bedside tables and a dressing table and stool from Furniture Barn, in Sheffield on Wednesday, February 25.
Emma, of Norton Lees, got rid of her old bed on Thursday, March 5, in preparation for the delivery the following day.

However, only the bedside tables arrived, along with the dressing table and stool.
The delivery driver said they did not know anything about a king-size bed.
Emma spent the next couple of weeks visiting the store, on Guernsey Road, Heeley, and ringing up to try to find out when the bed would be delivered, but with no luck.
Emma declined to buy a different bed, after buying matching furniture, and was also told there might be a bed in firm’s Doncaster store, but this turned out to be the wrong size.
She was finally told the bed would be arriving in the warehouse on Easter Monday, April 6, but there was no date for delivery.
In the meantime, Emma and her partner Shaun, were forced to sleep on a mattress on the floor.
Emma said: “I understand things go wrong, but it is about how a company then puts it right and the customer service has been appalling so far.
“We have been sleeping on a mattress on the floor from March 5 – we got rid of our old bed because we were expecting our new bed to be delivered on March 6.”
Action Desk contacted Furniture Barn’s head office, and received a swift response from their director of sales.
She said the bed was on order and would been arriving in early May, when Miss Shipley would be contacted to arrange delivery.
But then came even better news when Emma received a text to say the bed would be delivered immediately.
