Has the Deputy Prime Minister finally succumbed to total self delusion, claiming that AV will stop corruption in the voting system?
The government is in the process of gerrymandering political boundaries to favour themselves at the next election; where would this fit into his assessment?
The government is also considering inflicting un-elected mayors in areas where the electorate choose not to have them (presumably where people have supported opposition politicians).
It’s a bit rich for a member of a government partnership neither of whom has a mandate to govern the country or who failed to put their governing intentions before the voters at the general election to talk of corruption.
It doesn’t matter which voting system we decide on, if politicians abuse their position it will breed corruption and disillusion.
