An abandoned American bulldog with bite marks caused by dog fighting is being cared for by the RSPCA – after she was found by a concerned member of the public in Sheffield.
The injured dog was discovered in Norfolk Park and looked after overnight before being taken to the RSPCA.
RSPCA inspector Leanne Booth said: “This poor girl was covered in untreated bite wounds – some of which were quite old. “It is clear these are fighting wounds and they were all over her body.
“She was also underweight, and most of the wounds were on her face and neck.
“She was taken to a vet for treatment and is now doing much better.” Anyone with information about the dog, found on Friday, November 8, or its former owners is asked to ring the RSPCA inspector appeal line on 0300 1238018.
