A1 crash victim named

He was 36-year-old Neil Michael Memmott, who was driving a Ford Ka which is believed to have broken down on the hard shoulder of the north-bound carriageway around 2pm on Thursday.

Mr Memmott, of Tickhill Road, Balby, died after he was in collision with a lorry on the A1 about a mile north of the Warmsworth interchange.

A second lorry also struck him after the initial impact.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on Monday and the inquest will be opened later next week.
