A teenager had a day to forget this weekend after deciding to take his mum's car out for a spin across Sheffield.
Most teenagers can't wait for the day they can finally get behind the wheel and start their driving lessons.
For some, this day comes near or around their 17th birthday when teenagers are legally allowed to start preparing for their practical test.
However, one 15-year-old seemingly couldn't wait the extra two years before getting behind the wheel and decided to start practicing early.
SYP Operational Support revealed on Facebook that the teenage boy decided to take his friends out for a spin in his mum's car.
However, as the picture shows, things didn't exactly go to plan.
The car ended up with its right front wheel dislodged from the vehicle and South Yorkshire Police said it eventually had to be written off.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "15-year-old lad thought it would be fun to take his mum's car out for a ride to impress his mates.
"The day didn't quite end as he had intended.
"One written off car, a thick ear from mum and dad and an appearance in court all for trying to show off."
