80th season for pool

Hathersage pool will opens its doors for the 2016 season this month - on its 80th anniversary year.

The unique outdoor swimming pool offers outdoor swimming from Saturday March 19 to October 29, with water heated to 28°C.

Assistant Pool Manager George Foy said: “It’s official, winter is coming to an end and spring will soon be upon us, which can only mean one thing - the opening of Hathersage pool!

“Our doors will officially open at 7.30am next Saturday for swimmers to step, leap and dive into their first outdoor heated swim of the season. The pool can be enjoyed by all ages, whatever the weather, come rain or shine and, as we are celebrating our 80th season this year, we’re kicking things off with a party.”

There will be music on the bandstand from 1pm-5pm and Aqua Fun with ‘The Challenger’ from 3pm-5pm.

George added: “You can purchase your season ticket next week before the season begins.

“Everyone at Hathersage Swimming Pool looks forward to welcoming you back for another successful season!”
