78-year-old Rotherham woman knocked over and left in hospital after robbery

A police appeal has been launched after a 78-year-old woman was robbed in Rotherham.

The woman was walking along Stone Close, Ravenfield, Rotherham, when she was approached from behind by an unknown man.

The man is alleged to have grabbed the woman’s bag, knocking her to the ground.

She was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries to her leg and face.

The incident happened at about 1pm on Tuesday, October 27.

The man is described as being white, between 20 and 25-years-old, wearing dark trousers and a light grey top.

The investigation is ongoing and police are collecting CCTV footage and carrying out house to house enquiries.
