69-year-old airlifted to hospital after Rotherham smash

A man was left seriously injured after a crash on a major road in Rotherham.

The crash happened at about 3pm on Saturday, February 20 on Sheffield Road (A57), Anston, when a red and silver Mitsubishi L200 long 4x4 vehicle collided with a 69-year-old man.

The man had been loading his trailer, parked at the side of the carriageway heading towards Worksop.

The 69-year-old sustained significant injures to his legs and was taken by air ambulance to hospital. He remains in a critical but stable condition in the Northern General Hospital.

The 25-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi was not injured in the incident.
