50 exhibitors at new Magna event

A new business exhibition at Magna has won the backing of the Federation of Small Businesses to showcase 'the potent power of the Yorkshire economy.'

The FSB is the ‘gold sponsor’ of the Inspiring Yorkshire Business event, which will feature more than 50 exhibitors, as well as contracts across Sheffield City Region.

Gordon Millward, regional chairman of FSB, said: “Despite the decline of traditional industries such as coal, steel and textiles, Yorkshire has significant industrial capacity, fantastic natural resources and strengths in advanced manufacturing, low carbon, renewable energy, healthcare technologies and financial and business services.

“The Yorkshire region has a major role to play in the development of the Northern Powerhouse and we need an event like this to showcase the potent power of the Yorkshire economy.

“This is the first running of the event - which FSB is delighted to sponsor - and we hope it becomes a regular feature in the South Yorkshire Calendar.

“We would urge all Yorkshire’s businesses, large and small, to turn up to hear good local speakers, get sound business advice and browse the technology on display.”

Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership will host a Business Opportunities Hub at the event, showing companies how they can tap into contracts across the region.
