19 men charged with violent disorder after Britain First protest in Rotherham

Nineteen men have been charged with violent disorder offences following the Britain First demonstration in Rotherham.

Fifteen men from Rotherham and four from West Yorkshire were charged with violent disorder after disruption in Wellgate on September 5 at about 4.30pm

Asif Zaman, 47, of Wellgate Mount, has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon.

A 17-year-old from Masbrough has been charged with violent disorder. He cannot be named for legal reasons.

The men are due to appear before Rotherham Magistrates’ Court within the next month. Details of the appearance will be published closer to the time.
