18-storey tower in Sheffield student scheme

Brookfield Student Real Estate is behind plans to demolish the former Footprint Tools factory on Hollis Croft, just off Broad Lane, and erect four buildings including an 18-storey tower.

The landmark development is set to include communal facilities for students, commercial units and outdoor space.

We’re excited about this opportunity to revive the former Footprint Tools site, which is in need of regeneration and is no longer utilised for its original manufacturing purposes.

“Our proposals will not only provide much-needed new accommodation, but will contribute to the wider rejuvenation of this part of the city by providing attractive public spaces, new amenities and improved pedestrian routes in and around the site.”

Prior to a planning application going in, the development team will be hosting a public consultation event from 4.30-7.30pm tomorrow at the Croft House Centre on Garden Street.

Demolition is scheduled to start in autumn with the first buildings completed by September 2018.

The Sheffield-based team behind the development includes HLM Architects and DLP Planning Ltd.
