It’s no secret that Sheffield has built up a reputation as a city that knows how to do a night out properly.
Every year, thousands of hopeful students make Sheffield their number one choice for university and its legendary nightlife surely plays a huge factor in that.
With countless bars lining the city streets, and more than enough nightclubs to keep revellers busy until the early hours, it’s easy to see why Sheffield is so popular.
And this was no different in the 1990s and even earlier than it is today.
Although there weren’t quite as many bars and clubs in the city centre as there are today, the ones that did stay open until the early hours always drew in huge crowds.
You wouldn’t find any craft beers, proseccos or selfies in there but they were plenty of cheap drinks, loud music and questionable fashion choices.
Sadly, these clubs of the 20th century haven’t stood the test of time but here are 11 nightclubs that we’ll never forget.
