10-year-old boy seriously injured in South Yorkshire road collision

A 10-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after he was seriously injured in a South Yorkshire road collision.

The incident took place shortly before 4.30pm today when a car collided with the boy on Kilnhurst Road in Rawmarsh.

The road is currently closed at the scene but no one has been arrested and the boy has been taken to hospital via air ambulance with serious injuries.

A police spokesperson said: “Emergency services were called 4.29pm today (Friday 12 March) following reports of a collision between a car and a ten-year-old boy on Kilnhurst Road in the Rawmarsh area of Rotherham.

“Police attended the scene, and the child was taken to hospital with serious injuries via air ambulance.

“Kilnhurst Road is currently shut at the junction with Old Warren Vale

“No one has been arrested. Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact 101 quoting incident number 583 of 12 March 2021.”
