£10 to see the GP - shame on government

Have your say

Having been brought up in the late Twenties and Thirties, witnessing people being unable to afford visits from the doctor, I amongst millions, welcomed the coming of the National Health Service with open arms.

Surely, no government has ever introduced such welcome legislation for the benefit of the whole population in the annals of mankind.

And now, the ‘Haves’ want to impose on the ‘Have-Nots’ a £10 for each and every visit to the docs.

Shame on them for trying to turn back the clock to those good old days (for some).

I suppose this is the time of year that we can expect the penny-pinching Scrooges to emerge from their counting houses.

Aneurin Bevan must be turning in his grave like a spinning top.
