The Government’s phased plan to ‘unlock’ the country sets out when certain businesses, attractions and services might return, giving hope that life might regain some semblance of normality in the near future.
Here are 10 of the best things Sheffield can look forward to.
1. Football's return
It may be that matches are played behind closed doors at first - but fans will be over the moon when they can attend games again. Photo: Nigel Roddis/Getty Images
2. A trip to a gallery
Amy Farry, of Museums Sheffield, is pictured looking at Richard Hamilton’s work Kent State from 1970 at the Graves Gallery - art galleries may be allowed to open with social distancing in place this summer. Photo: Tony Johnson
3. A haircut at last
When lockdown was put in place it dawned on people that they wouldn't be able to get a professional haircut - some have attempted a home cut, while others are waiting it out until salons reopen. It is thought barbers and hairdressers may be able to go back to work in July; the picture is from the Czech Republic, which suggests what the experience might be like in England. 4. A film on the big screen
People might have had their fill of films for the time being but a home cinema experience can't beat seeing a movie on the big screen - and independent venues like The Showroom in Sheffield will need customers' support. Photo: Dean Atkins
