Lee Greenwood, the centre manager, said: “We are delighted to be part of The Star’s Laptops for Kids campaign and to be operating a drop off point for unwanted laptops and other devices.

“Crystal Peaks is very much at the heart of the community it serves and so we were very keen to be able to provide our support for this very special project.

“Now more than ever before, children and young people are needing the equipment that will give them essential support as they continue their studies at home.

“By operating a drop off point at the customer information desk in our Central Atrium, we hope we are making it even easier for everybody to become part of this great campaign.”

An enquiry via the Laptops for Kids website should be made before dropping off a device as the specification of devices need to be checked.

Launched by The Star, WANdisco and Learn Sheffield in September 2020, the Laptops for Kids campaign model has now started to be scaled up across the North of England, including Doncaster, Rotherham, Newcastle, and more locations to follow.
