After a first round that saw nine Championship teams surprisingly fall at the first hurdle, the Carabao Cup continues with the second round of fixtures.

Carabao, an energy drinks company based in Thailand, is the sponsor for the League Cup this year -having been the official sponsors since the 2017/18 season. Their deal is set to last until the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign.

Therefore, the draw should take place at around 9:45pm - no later than 10pm (assuming there is no lengthy penalty shootout at the end of any of the preceding games).

What channel is the draw on?

The draw will be available for viewing on Sky Sports Football, immediately following the Sheffield Wednesday vs Sunderland game.

If they both get through, Sheffield United will be ball number 26, while Sheffield Wednesday will be represented by ball number 25.

Who could Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United be drawn against?

Assuming that both teams win their first round games, they could potentially be drawn against each other - which would create the first Steel City Derby since 2019.

The teams who enter the competition in the third round are as follows: Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham United. Therefore, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United cannot be drawn against any of these clubs in the second round draw.

These teams automatically qualify for the third round due to them qualifying for a European competition last season. This includes the Champions League, the Europa League and the Europa Conference League.
