More police patrols in quiet Sheffield suburb following alleged murder

More police will be on patrol in a Sheffield suburb in the coming days following an alleged murder during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to South Road in High Green shortly before 1am on Saturday after a 45-year-old man was found in the street with serious injuries.

He was sadly pronounced dead while being taken to hospital.

A post-mortem examination carried out yesterday determined the cause of death was a bleed on the brain, but further medical examination is required to understand how the death occurred.

Two men, aged 25 and 31, and a 19-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder have been bailed pending further enquiries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson told The Star an enhanced police presence will remain in place to provide reassurance to shocked residents.
