A summer fair takes place in Gleadless Valley this Saturday to improve community cohesion and show how the area is ‘growing’.

The Get Gleadless Growing event at the One4All Community Hub, Morland Road, Gleadless Valley, will run from 11am to 3pm.

Organisers hope it will showcase how the estate is ‘growing’ as a community.

They want the fair to bring families, children and older residents together.

A sunflower competition, nail art and face painting are planned to entertain the crowds and there will be bath bomb workshops, cookery demonstrations, herb planting sessions, chairobics and bingo.

There will be a bouncy castle for children, a little pets corner and performances from local band The Virals.

A barbecue is also planned.
