While the possibility of travelling abroad for a summer holiday remains uncertain, many are turning their attention to the whole host of wonderful destinations within the UK.

Should all go to plan with the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown, indoor hospitality, hotels, hostels and B&Bs will reopen from May 17 and all coronavirus restrictions will be lifted from June 21.

Experts from OnBuy.com’s outdoor recreation department have used the online analytics tool SEM Rush to reveal where in the UK people are most searching online to potentially visit this year.

The total search volumes were divided by the corresponding population of each city and multiplied by the value of 100 to calculate monthly searches per 100 people.

Scroll through the list to see which destinations have come out top.
