Bosses at a Doncaster pub currently undergoing a major refurbishment have given a sneak preview of the new look hostelry.
The Marr Lodge is currently closed to the public while a huge overhaul of the building is carried out in time for its re-opening early next month.
And this week drinkers and diners were given a taste of what’s to come with a series of photos showing the work taking place on the pub’s Facebook page.
The Barnsley Road pub closed its doors in January for new owners The Pub People Company to embark on the large scale redevelopment plan.
Following on from the recent success at pubs such as The Bull in Lincoln and The Dukeries Lodge in Mansfield, The Marr Lodge will reopen under the company’s “Fresh and Local” brand.
The transformation is due to take seven weeks with the pub due to reopen on March 11, creating around 20 part time and full time jobs.
The pub will reopen with a new menu, and will be marketed under the “Fresh and Local” brand, which has so far been a huge hit at a number of pubs in and around Yorkshire and the East Midlands.
The concept is to deliver a great range of quality and value meals using fresh and locally (where possible) sourced products such as the signature 28-day aged steak using British Beef from local farms in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
As well as offering two meals for £10 deals, the menu will include a variety of local steaks and grills, a range of vegetarian and gluten free meals and a daily carvery.
There are also plans to introduce a range of three cask ales, consisting of one permanent local ‘house’ cask in addition to national brands such as Sharp’s Doom Bar, Marston’s Pedigree and a variety of local and regional guests.
Residents of Marr will be invited to an exclusive VIP launch evening next month.
