A Sheffield shopping centre was transformed into a sea of pink as women of all ages ran the Race For Life to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
About 5,000 people took on the five kilometre course in the baking sun around the outside of Meadowhall Shopping Centre, raising an estimated £250,000 in the process.
Meadowhall events organiser Alex Caley said: “We’re really delighted, it’s even bigger and better than it was last year. You can’t help but be moved with an event like this, when you look out into a car park which is converted into a sea of pink.
“We’re hoping to raise about £250,000 today for Cancer Research UK today which would be fantastic. It’s something Meadowhall are really proud to host and we hope that the event will continue to be a huge success and get even bigger and better every year.”
