Topshop reveal future of Meadowhall store and closing date for Sheffield Fargate branch

The owners of Topshop and Topman on Sheffield’s Fargate have confirmed the clothing stores will close later this year.

Owners Arcadia, run by businessman Sir Philip Green, have said the stores' final trading day will be March 7.

The Meadowhall branch will remain open, the company has confirmed.

A spokesperson for the Arcadia Group said they have "endeavoured" to offer staff at the Fargate store other employment opportunities within the business.

Last month The Star revealed Superdrug Stores are likely to take over the Fargate site, with plans for a shop front change submitted to Sheffield City Council.

A spokesperson said: “The Topshop Topman Sheffield Fargate store will cease trading on 7th March 2020 and we have endeavoured to offer current staff other employment options within the Arcadia Group.

“Our customers can still visit the nearby Topshop Topman Sheffield Meadowhall or shop online at Topshop.com and Topman.com.”
