Bosses at the Sheffield shopping centre this afternoon advised anyone visiting to wrap up warm and bring their waterproofs in case they have to wait outside.

“Our centre is at capacity so we are kindly asking visitors to queue in the designated area until it’s safe to enter,” the centre tweeted at 1.15pm today, Saturday, May 8.

"Our car park marshalls are out informing arriving cars of the situation.

"Please wrap up warm and bring your waterproofs in case you are required to queue.”

The store previously reached capacity last Saturday and on the bank holiday Monday, when shoppers were also asked to queue outside in the rain and there was heavy congestion on surrounding roads.

The centre is operating at reduced capacity, with a one-way system in place, to ensure social distancing can be maintained inside.
