While the centre brings some of the best high street brands under one roof, it is also home to a host of unique independent retailers, from a stylish café to a social enterprise and even a secret Harry Potter store.
Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: “Supporting the local community is incredibly important to us, and we’re happy to be home to some of the most exciting retailers and brands of Sheffield We encourage visitors to get down, shop local and experience the unique, eclectic mix of independents we have to offer.”

5. Shop Under the Stairs
Shop Under the Stairs is one of the 20 independent retailers based in The Lanes, this magical store is packed with all things Harry Potter. Potter fans can get prop replicas, collectables, themed homeware, butter beer and can even snap a selfie with Hagrid.
6. The Independent Yorkshire Shop
Shoppers can find even more local goods at The Independent Yorkshire Shop. It first opened in 2019, and houses small brands from across the county and current hosts include the Jasmine Tree Gifts gift shop and pet portrait artist Robert James Hull Art.
7. The Music Box
A staple in Meadowhall since the centre opened in 1990, The Music Box sells a wide range of printed sheet music, accessories, music-themed gifts and instruments. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always on hand to offer advice and answer any music queries, whether you’re an expert or a novice.
