These shops have provided generations of Sheffielders with their sugar fix over the years.
The sweet shops pictured were located around Sheffield, from The Moor and West Street in the city centre to Crookes and Meersbrook in the suburbs.
As well as shops around the city, the pictures in this gallery show workers at the old Thorntons factory in Woodseats.
Thorntons originated in Sheffield but closed its shops after 110 years in 2021, though it still sells its sweets online and they are also available in supermarkets.
