WORK is underway on an £800,000 repair project at Redmires Middle Reservoir in Sheffield.

Contractor Mott MacDonald Bentley is carrying out the work to strengthen and raise the embankment at the reservoir, one of three near Lodge Moor that were completed in the mid-19th century.

Yorkshire Water spokesman Paul Gamwell said: “Redmires reservoirs are a popular destination for walkers and visitors.

“The work we are doing will enable us to continue to safeguard the high quality water supply to the region.”
