Just when you thought you could put down your glass for a detox, there’s good reason to break that New Year resolve.
Rotherham CAMRA’s New York Championship Beer Festival runs from Thursday to Saturday, January 10, at the New York Stadium, home of Rotherham United.
The theme is Championship, a fitting tribute to the hosts who celebrated play off glory last season. The event’s main sponsor, law firm Wilford Smith, will be hosting a bar featuring a selection of local craft beers.
A live music line-up will include popular covers band The Yard Dogs, Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Brass Band and international rising stars Buffalo Skinners.
Festival organiser Jim Crowe said: “The Championship bar will feature all the winners from Rotherham Real Ale and Music festival 2014, which is held annually at MAGNA and the Bradfield Brewery Away Bar will cater for those wanting to try beers from further afield in the UK. The Walker Cutting Bar will feature a range of foreign beers and fine wines.”
Advance tickets (£5 including a beer glass and brochure) must be bought for Thursday and Friday nights (6-11pm) while tickets are available on the door on Saturday (noon to 11pm). CAMRA members get a free pint.
