How you can give an hour or two of your time to help Thornberry Animal Sanctuary
Thornberry Animal Sanctuary are looking for people like you to help keep them running.
We all know the excellent work that animal rescue centre do day in, day out. But have you ever thought about how you could help?
Thornberry Animal Sanctuary is once such centre. Founded in 1988, they have rescued thousands of dogs, cats, rabbits and equines.
They take animals that - through no fault of their own - need a new home. They assess them and deal with any medical or behavioural issues they may have, then try to match them to their perfect forever home.
Could you help? Here are just some of the ways you can get involved:

Donations: Thornberry receives thousands of weekly donations that need sorting so they can make their way to their shops.
Smalls: Could you spare an hour or two in a morning to help refresh and feed the rabbits and guinea pigs? They have lots of spaces Monday to Friday.
Cattery: They have space for more for more volunteers in the cattery, mid-week mornings, they can often have no-one in to help out.
Dog walking: This is the most popular volunteer role but more people are always welcome.
Retail: Working in a charity shop can give vital work experience, as well as new friendships and socialisation for anyone who might be living alone. If you haven’t got the time, maybe you know someone who can benefit?
Event Volunteers: Thornberry are desperately needing an extra 6 people for Fun on the Farm on 5th July to help with carparking.
If you or someone you know could help out, you can sign up online, or come to one of their inductions which start at 10am prompt on Friday, or the last Sunday of each month.
