These fabulous pups would make wonderful additions to so many families in South Yorkshire, but until then they can only wait and hope.
They include ‘giddy, affectionate’ Kingy the pocket bully who just loves other dogs, Titan the aeroplane-eared terrier cross, and not one but two akitas who are ready to bound into your lap in the form of Padme and Jyn.
These pups come courtesy of Thornberry Animal Sanctuary and Rains Rescue, two South Yorkshire charities who look after hundreds of animals a year in their search for new homes.
Sadly, so many of these pups have been waiting months or even years for their chance. Odin the lurcher’s striking eyes have tragically put off many prospective families when all he wants to do is play. There’s also Tommy the Rottweiler, a sweetheart who has been waiting so long Rains have had cut his adoption fee in half to give him a better chance!
Take a look at these 14 dogs below for more information and see if you could offer them a home. You’ll find links to learn more along with each picture.

13. Enzo the 'very sweet' French Bulldog puppy
"Enzo is a very sweet Frenchie puppy! He is very vocal (typical frenchie he makes from very bizarre noises) He has previously lived in a very loving home and has arrived under incredibly sad circumstances. He loved the children in the previous home and would love a family setting as this is what he is used to. Enzo has a particular playstyle with dogs and would benefit from on going socialisation classes." - https://www.thornberryanimalsanctuary.org/animals/enzo/ | Thornberry Animal Sanctuary

14. Elsa the 'affectionate, loving' zoomy girl
"Holly, Belle & Elsa all arrived heavily pregnant, living rurally with limited interactions with people. Despite this, many Months later they have become very affectionate and loving to us and have learned to walk on a lead and harness. They are all incredibly sociable with other dogs and ideally we would rehome them with other at least one other that they can bond with (having been around other dogs their entire life) They could be introduced to teenagers that are understanding of rescue dogs. Elsa is the ‘baby’ of the trio. She loves to zoomy and play with toys! (bears are her favourite) She is quite petite in comparison to her sisters – Elsa is the most nervous with new people but her love is well worth the extra efforts. We would love to offer these girls a foster home, where we can learn more about them and introduce them to what a loving home has to offer. If you have the space and time for another dog but are unsure about the lifelong commitment, please get in touch to discuss our foster opportunities." - https://www.thornberryanimalsanctuary.org/animals/elsa-2/ | Thornberry Animal Sanctuary

15. Hero the 'brave, bouncy bonkers' Labrador
"Who needs a hero? he’s big brave bouncy and bonkers! Your typical busy labrador, he is very heavy set – being crossed with a ridgeback he needs physically strong owners that are committed to lead training and recall training too. He is very good with other dogs but boisterous, so owners will need confidence with his interactions and he could live with a well matched neutered dog. We feel he is best suited to live with older children aged 12+ he is housetrained and cannot live with cats. Hero should have low leaving hours as he likes to be part of the fun in the home." - https://www.thornberryanimalsanctuary.org/animals/hero/ | Thornberry Animal Sanctuary
