Some of the dogs have been there a long time - Whiskey, Pluto and Albus in particular have been at the North Anston sanctuary since mid-late 2023.
Rosco is a new face at the shelter in recent weeks, who arrived with his sibling. The chihuahua x pug has apparently been finding the environment overwhelming, but has been gaining confidence day by day.
Another new face is senior boy Frodo, who is 13 and a half years old! The staff at the shelter say he is “desperate” to return to his home comforts - could you be the one to provide him with them? 5. Bear
Bear the six-year-old Poodle cross arrived to Thornberry needing a welfare groom and some TLC. He is now a confident little character who is eager to say hello to everyone. Bear is good with other dogs so could live with another well mannered adult dog dependent on a successful meet here at Thornberry however this is not essential providing he has doggy friends to walk with. 6. Drac
One-year-old Drac the Lurcher cross is a very affectionate, energetic boy who loves nothing more to greet everyone he sees. Drac has enjoyed socialising with other dogs so could potentially live with another dog dependent on them having the same energy levels and pass a dog meet here at Thornberry. Drac has previously lived with children so could do so again dependent on the children being 6+ and dog savvy. Drac will require some further basic training and benefit from some loose lead training. 7. Pete
Pete is a five-year-old ex-racing Greyhound who is a very gentle soul! Pete will need a home prepared to expose him to all the wonderful things that come with being a family dog. Pete has enjoyed spending time with other sighthounds so could live with another sighthound/s dependent on a successful dog meet here at Thornberry. Pete has never lived in a home environment before so will require some further basic training to ensure he adjust to a home comfortably. | Thornberry Animal Sanctuary
8. Woody
Woody is a two-year-old ex-racing Greyhound who has just arrived to Thornberry and is still under assessment at the moment. Woody is a gentle boy looking for a home prepared to pamper him as he deserves. Woody could live with other sight hounds dependent on a successful dog meet here at Thornberry. Where children are present he will be best suitable to older children who are able to understand when Woody requires his own space. | Thornberry Animal Sanctuary
