9 South Yorkshire dogs desperate for homes – including a Chihuahua who loves a cup of tea

Take a look at the 9 pups hoping for a loving home

Nine dogs in South Yorkshire are hoping to find their forever home.

All nine are currently being cared for by Helping Yorkshire Poundies and are waiting for new families to come forward and give them a second chance.

They range from a tiny 1.7kg Chihuahua to a 35kg Labrador cross Mastiff, with each bringing their own personality, quirks and needs.

Among them is one-year-old Barney, a gentle giant who has already endured a terrible start to life but remains a "sweetest, silliest, most loveable" dog who adores people.

There is also Gizmo, an approximately 10-year-old Chihuahua who has come out of his shell in foster care and has developed a particular fondness for sneaking the cats' food and enjoying a cup of tea.

Meanwhile, older dogs including 10-year-old Diego and 11-year-old Leo are hoping someone will look past their age and give them the loving home they deserve.

While they are all different, each of the nine dogs is now waiting for the same thing – a loving home where they can finally belong.
