Adventurous teenager Daniel Taylor, aged 17, is taking part in a bike tour of the Yorkshire Dales this weekend to raise money to fund a teaching trip.

The King Edward VII school pupil, of Crookes, wants to raise enough money to teach children in Sri Lanka this summer before he begins studying law and Italian at Oxford University in September.

He is undertaking the Etape du Dales challenge based on a Tour de France stage and will cycle 181km around the Yorkshire Dales and ascend 3,500ft.
