News In Brief: Vandalism leads to review of toilets

PENISTONE Town Council is reviewing the future of the public toilets in the town centre after another wave of vandalism.

The toilets have been vandalised frequently before, and the council has now called for a survey before further spending is approved.

Councillors were told the toilets were a much needed facility, used especially by bus drivers calling at the town centre bus stop.

University shop

SHEFFIELD University is planning to open a shop at its student accommodation in The Endcliffe Village.

The public will also be able to use the shop, which will sell food, drink, fresh fruit, veg, household essentials – and alcohol, if it gets a licence.

The shop is to open in September.

Medical open day

Richmond Medical Centre is holding an open day for the community, not just patients, on Saturday.

A karate demonstration, face painting, healthy food tasters and a giveaway of children’s clothes and books will be on offer from 11am to 2pm.

Alice at theatre

KIMBERWORTH Park Youth Theatre stage their version of Alice in Wonderland at the Lifewise Centre, Hellaby, Rotherham, this Saturday and Sunday.

All the shows are already a sell-out.
